The great 14k gold Name Necklace conundrum

With the price of gold still hanging out in the upper stratosphere (around $1,650 per oz as of this writing), it’s been suggested to me more than once that we could charge less for our gold nameplates if we made them a little thinner.

Our standard 14k gold nameplates have been .025″ (.65mm) thick for as long as we have been making them – over 25 years!

While I realize that most other nameplate makers now use a much thinner plate – .015″-.018″ is more the norm – I just can’t bring myself to go down that road.

I mean…what would Carrie say??
